In loving memory of my mom, Kathleen Peters-Durrigan.

On August 9, 2025, we lost my incredible mom to esophageal cancer. She was strong, loving, funny, and the heart of our family. During her illness, she showed so much courage and determination, even while facing something so difficult.

One of her final wishes was that we continue to spread awareness about esophageal cancer and support efforts to find a cure — to help “beat this awful monster of a cancer.”

That’s why I created this team: Run Like Kathleen Is Watching.

Because if you knew my mom, you know she’d be cheering us on, probably telling us to keep going and maybe even pick up the pace.

Every step we take is in her memory. Every dollar raised helps support awareness, research, and the fight against esophageal cancer so that fewer families have to go through this loss.
